The Portuguese language is also a romance language and it uses the same structure.

And is there a "going to" as there is in French and Spanish in Portuguese or does Portuguese behave like Italian?

Hello Laura, I too, speak Spanish and Italian and have wondered about this difference. Has Italian always been like this? Did Dante Alighieri's Italian use a near future? To go even deeper, maybe one of your followers can tell us if Latin uses a near future, or is it like Italian.
